New to the site

Hello everybody!
I'm new to this.
Why am I here (as opposed to another site)? A long-distance friend of mine got me involved in this site when we realized that we could track each others' exercise and eating habits over The Internets. She's been acting as something of a coach for me, for which I am extremely grateful!
What are my goals? I used to be in very good shape... ten years ago. My first year of college, I walked almost 3 miles a day to class and back, carrying a backpack with 10-15 pounds of books. I dropped 20 lbs in the first three weeks, despite eating fried food almost every day. Once I settled into an apartment and began driving to campus, I quickly gained back those 20 lbs and more. My goal is to drop 40 lbs, to get back to that level. I'll be very happy with it, and I hope my wife will, too!
I'm not exactly a self-motivated fitness sort of person. I need somebody breathing down my neck making me do more.
So hopefully MFP will help me out with this!
