How do you figure out calories?
I am vegetarian with vegan leanings. I'm also allergic to dairy, soy, gluten and seafood. I tend to make my food from scratch because it's safer and easier. The trouble is when I make something like a veggie pattty, I have no idea how to assign a calorie number to it. Is there a formula I should be following?

Just enter in the calorie value for each ingredient.
Example:
1 cup qunioa
1 cup lentils
3 cloves garlic
2 tbsp olive oil
1 cup black beans
etc etc. However much you use in the patties, you can just add as raw ingredients and it will come out the same. I do that all the time when I make salads and its much easier than trying to find something similar in the database.0 -
You can also try using the recipe feature on here...you just put in all the ingredients and how much then put the number of servings and it gives you the number of calories in one serving. It also saves the recipe for whenever you need to use it again.0

Thanks. that's exactly what I need I tend to batch cook on the weekends so I can't just enter each item individually. This will be a big help. :happy:0
