Can you realistically burn off those extra calories?

I am just wondering if anyone knows if you can burn calories consumed the day before or Extra Calories?
For instance If someone goes way over their calorie goal for the day could they exercise twice as long the next day to make up for it?
I know it can't hurt, just curious on other MFP members thoughts about his.

I think it's possible. I try to balance my week so that I have a deficits during the week and can go over a little on the weekends. Seems to work for me.0

You can not make up for what you did yesterday
DON'T WORRY BOUT YESTERDAY!

Sure you can. It's simple math. It sounds like she is just looking at her week as a whole, not seven separate days. Her thinking is in line with the "flex points" idea from Weight Watchers.
It is all about balance - calories in and calories out. Nothing magical happens at midnight when the date changes. I think the tricky part is not creating a mentality of getting too far ahead of yourself with eating tomorrow's calories - it would be easy to lose your footing.0 -
