First week ended with a test :)

I just completed my first week of my lifestyle change and lost 3 pounds. A friend from work hosted a Pampered Chef party to which I was invited. I knew there would be plenty of food there, and for the most part I wasn't overly worried since she eats pretty healthy and doesn't use her parties as an excuse to offer a full-out junk food affair. You can see on my diary what I ate last night -- I think I did pretty good. There were other things there I could have eaten, but made a conscious decision not to and it didn't feel like such a big deal.

And then I went home.

I walk through the door, and there on the stove was a pan with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies sitting there. My darling fiance', bless his heart, thought he would save some for me just in case. LOL.....I kindly thanked him, but told him no, and please do not ever save anything like that for me again, even "just in case."

I'm proud to say, even though the smell of freshly baked c/c cookies was heavenly, I passed my first test! :drinker:

Great willpower! It would be really easy after a good weigh in to "celebrate" by splurging a little. Keep digging deep down like that as you continue on reaching your fitness goals!! Good job on the victory!

You passed with flying colors. I flunked my first test like that - homemade biscuits with butter. Yeah. Can you say 65 minutes on the elliptical to end the day under calories! I am so impressed by your restraint!

Thank you all for the encouragement. It amazes me that I actually had no desire for the cookies....of course, banishing them before it could take root helped a lot. I know down the road it won't always be this easy. This site certainly helps me to be more aware of what I'm putting into my body.
  • Wow, you did pass the test! Good job!! I know it's hard but, you're doing awesome!
