I always hear that you shouldn't do the same exercise every day, and to an extent that makes sense to me. However, what about when your body has become accustomed to it? I mean, you don't see baseball players taking every other day off during the world series, or basketball players taking every other day off during the playoffs. Granted - theres a big difference between where they are and where I am, but still. Its the same exercise almost every day, often for an entire season.

So, are there really detrimental effects to doing the same exercises every day?

I'm wondering because i'm really trying to get my endurance built up so I've been trying to get an hour of light cardio in every day just to get my heart used to moving again since I neglected it for so long.
