Heart rate monito calories question

Here is yet another monitor question. Do I just log in the calories it says on my monitor after exercising, or do I need to first subtract the calories I would have burned anyway just for being alive?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I always subtract the calories I normally would anyway 'just being alive' from the amount the HR monitor says.0

I usually subtract a cal per minute, and then half the result. And it doesn't count if the exercise was something else but cardio, such as weight training.0
