my mum wants to lose weight and no matter what she tries she ends up getting bigger! whether its dieting or exercising even both. and she always done it so it was healthy, but no matter what she always puts on weight and gets bigger. what does it mean?

Hm,
Well, it could be a lot of things (although the only two I can now thing of are thyroid disorders and PCOS) - the first suggestion I have is for your Mom to speak to her Doctor about it as he/she will be able to run whatever tests are needed to pinpoint where the problem is.

First stop like the pist above mentioned is the docs!! I was also having this same problem recebntly where I thought I was eationg really healthy and doing lots of exercise, putting on weight. It turned out I wasnt easting enough(!). If you dont eat enough your body goes into starvation mode and stores everything. When I started using this site and calculating my points i made sure I was eating the recommended amount, and the weight started coming off again :-)

no she's definately eating enough, but she eats healthy, ofcourse not all the time she'll occasionally snack but thats eat. i've told her to go to the doctors, i just hope she goes. i'm worried.0

It depends how often she snacks, and what she eats when she snacks. It could be that her occasional snack is undoing all the good work she has done with her healthy eating. Does she keep a food diary?0
