Hey All,

Hope u guys are rocking as always...

I have been following a high protein diet since past few months and saw good results on it... with 45% carbs, 40% protein and 20% fat.....but now I feel that body is used to this diet composition.. I need to make big changes in my diet so that my body is shocked again and starts losing again :)

Hence, I m thinking of moving to high carb n low protein diet with a composition like 60% carbs, 25% protein, and 15% fat. Any suggestions on this ? Has anyone seen good results with this diet composition ? Also, it will be great if you can share ur diet plans with me and some good snacks ideas too..

Thanks very much in advance.

Luv n Hugs,
S.K.B

You'll have to be careful and choose the right carbs. Veggies and fruits, mostly, along with some high fiber whole grain breads/pastas/rice/cereals. Also change up your exercise.

I don't have any specifics for you, but I am interested in seeing your results! I've been on high protein, restricted carbs for so long it would be a weird change for me. LOL! Best of luck to you!

I would suggest talking to a nutritionist and running it by them first. Not sure what 'high carb' translates to as far as grams is concerned. You must also take your exercise lifestyle into consideration. If you are a heavy duty exercise enthusiast - rigorous exercise at least 5 times a day - then you need to make sure you have enough energy to be able to complete such activities.

    Take care, hope this helps.

My trainer suggested carb cycling for me, a training athlete. I have a low carb day at 10% an medium at 30% and a high at 50% and cycle through that during the week. Shocks my metabolism so I can get lean and mean for rugby

Also, High carb is not the way to go. Carbs make you retain water and seem bloated. plus if you dont eat the right carbs you are going to lose less. so be careful :]

    Good points.
Carbs (Low GI) are not bad and they are necessary for energy but you can have too much of a good thing.
Also, I had good weight loss results by increasing my protein consumption (natural sources+ supplement / whey)

Have you tried some of the simple calculators online?
Here's one that I started off with:

Carb cycling is a more advanced topic.
I wouldn't do if you ARE:
    In perfect health
    Have a 4-pack (under 12% bf)
    Over 18
Iron will - you don't need cheat meals..

Do you agree with this? I would be interested in what your trainer suggested...

I agree, its not easy, but I have to do it for a while. I broke down a ton of muscle with no protien/iron/amino acids. And stored fat. So my body make up is weird xD I may only be 130 and lookalright, but I have a low amount of muscle
