Is it a good thing? I would think so but I just need that other voice.
Also, if I am sore the next day should I take a day off to let my body relax so I am not over doing it?

Being sore means that your muscles really worked. You are challenging yourself, and you are on the road to getting stronger and having more endurance. It is common to be more sore the day after than immediately after a workout - that is completely normal. Your muscles are repairing themselves.
All that said, there are bad kinds of soreness: back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain - in general any pain in your joints or in your back means that you need to take it easy and have someone check your form. Soreness in the large muscle groups, however - that's a good thing!
You can prevent soreness from bringing you down (and causing you to miss workouts) by alternating which muscles you work. Do a lower-body workout one day, and an upper-body workout the next. On lower-body days, do less intensive cardio, like the elliptical, cycling or walking. On upper body days, feel free to work the legs a little harder, running, stair-climbing, etc. This should keep you feeling good enough to go to the gym 6 days a week (if you wish). You should take one day off though :flowerforyou:0 -
feeling some soreness is natural if you really worked a muscle. I feel more sore the second day. I do a split training. which gives me 2 days of lifting, a day off and 2 days of lifting. of course on the off days I have discovered pilates. which I am really bad at but will keep it up until I figure it out. some of those exercises you simply cannot do with a belly as big as mine. watch out for actual pain, but being a bit sore is ok. good journey.:flowerforyou:0
