I want to know what you all substitute foods or snacks with to make them more healthy...

Mine are as follows:
- no added sugar cordial in sparkling water to fool me into thinking I am drinking a fizzy drink!
- Tinned mackerel fillets (drained) on top of my salad instead of tuna (more flavour)
- Cayenne pepper added onto my food before eating instead of black pepper as it is supposed to speed up your metabolism!

Looking forward to reading yours...

    1. Almonds in my salad instead of croutons or any other crunchies
    2. Stevia in my coffee instead of sugar (my nemesis)
    3. Mint & Lime in my water so I don't get bored of drinking water all the time.

I replace half of the lean ground beef in tacos with bulgur... more fibre, tasty and less fat!

    1. Laughing Cow cheese on my sandwich/hamburger instead of cheese AND mayo (those wedges are fantastic!!)
    2. One square of super rich dark chocolate instead of a couple of bars of milk chocolate
    3. a shot of low calorie cranberry juice in a big glass of water instead of those yucky powdery flavour packages for when I want something other than plain water in the morning.

I put raw cole slaw mix (ie. the cabbage with carrots) into my fried rice. Yeah, I know - it sounds bad, but I swear to god, you cannot taste that it is cabbage. It creates a nice volume and the cabbage is really nice very low calorie roughage!

I used the recipe from this page: http://www.theperfectpantry.com/2009/06/kecap-manis-recipe-nasi-gorengindonesian-fried-rice.html

I am actually using more cabbage than they recommend and I have no idea how it works but you cannot see or taste cabbage - one would think that a bunch of cabbage in fried rice should be detectable, but it is not.
Try to get the Ketjap Manis and the Sriracha - you can probably make due with soy sauce and hot sauce, but those two things (which are not too expensive) really hit this dish out of the park!

An Izze sparkling juice when I'm really craving a soda.

I think that's the only substitution food I really have. For everything else I either indulge a little when I want something (a small piece of chocolate, one cookie etc.) or I've cut it out completely (fast food, junk food, etc.)
