How on earth am i supposed to eat 1300 calories in one meal! I find i have a hard enough time filling my daily 2000, but add in the exercise i did this morning, and that leaves me with 1300 left to eat for the day. I know you are supposed to eat some of your exercise back...but i can't see myself eating a 1300 calorie meal!

advice/suggestions needed please!!

Break it down. Have a high cal low fat snack. Try some almonds, cracker with peanut butter, etc. Then have dinner and another snack after dinner.

It's only 2:21 here, I don't know what time it is there.

yeah, its the same time here, but i've already had lunch and only dinner left....Im working tonight (work 2 jobs)

I usually eat before i go and have a snack when i get home...I just dont see myself being "hungry" enough to eat 1300 calories!

I suppose i could solve that problem with a trip to McDonalds LOL! (eww.)

Make it nutrient dense - lots of protein and good fats and good carbs. As mentioned, I'd go for a good snack now/soon, have dinner, then another good snack. I wouldn't worry about getting ALL of the cals, but you should be able to do a good 800-1000. I rarely have a problem getting at least 7-800 after lunch.

    Hi Phil:

Ya, I've run into the same thing but not on that scale. 1300 calories is a lot, I mean a lot as in not the way we're supposed to eat anymore.

First off, I would say just eat a normal dinner. You're used to getting, what, 800 or 900 at dinner? That leaves you a 300 - 500 calorie deficit for the day and, If your don't feel hungry, just stick with that. (The government should do so well with the deficit!)

Second choice: Do you need a reward? If so, have a treat but make sure you keep it under control.

Anyway, man, congratulations. My start weight was 320 and I'm down to 315, so I'm right behind you. I get about 1950 calories per day and I've been at it for two weeks.

    Keep up the good work!

From what I've seen around the threads, peanuts in some form seems to be the way to go!
    Good luck.
(I've 1100 still to go and I've just had my evening meal)

Wish I had your problem, LOL!

You can pack in a LOT of calories munching on nuts, and nuts are generally a very healthy source of mono-unsaturated fat. A small amount of nuts goes a long way, so I would recommend checking it out and using nuts to satisfy your calorie requirement, if you really need to reach 2000 cals.

That said, you don't necessarily HAVE to fulfill the extra cals that you are entitled after exercise. So, you could probably shave off a few hundred cals by omitting the additional cals that you "earned" by exercising.

You don't always have to eat your total daily calories. My endocrinologist said it's okay to be under (waaayyy under) occasionally. He said as long as I don't eat way under every day that I;ll be fine.

When I'm trying to fill in calories, I will have 2 slices of potato bread or whole grain bread, slather them with peanut butter (more than I might usually use) and top it with sliced banana. Nuts are great too. Also milk. When I need a sugar fix, I munch on dry cereal (though something tells me you're not the type to sit on the couch munching on Fruit Loops like I did the other night).

When I'm real short of the goal cals for the day and not hungry, I mix up my protein drink w/ all milk instead of half water.... 260 cals.

This happened to me a couple of time last week. I planned my day and ate according to that plan. At the end of the day, I ended up doing a whole lot more gym time than anticipated and with a result of still having to consume 1000 or more calories just to get to me 1200 net calories for the day. One way recommended to me to get some good calories was to drink a protein shake. This has worked well for me the last few days. I have a bottle in my car with a couple of scoops of powder in it that I will add water to later after my workout and drink it there before I even go home. Like someone else mentioned you can mix it with milk instead for additional calories.

Nuts is totally the way to go. A handful and you've added like 180 calories! You should do that asap. Also habe a cup of milk... I don't habe dairy but I know that had cals and valium. Next try a fruit salad... Yummy! Or if you're not too hungry try some apple sauce or a smoothie.. Hmmm, them there is a quesadilla with low fat cheese on wheat tortillas.. Add some tomstoes to that to add more cals!

love when that happens but I am a dinner eater...LOL...I still have to be cognisant of my choices and might have enough left for a good snack for after the kids are in bed and actually enjoy what I am eating. Good luck with your dinner. Go ahead and add some healthy protein/fats like avacados, nuts, cheese crumbles etc.

I am INSANELY jealous that this is your problem!

I have the absolute opposite problem. I'm STARVING, I have dinner (and dessert - I MUST have something for dessert in some capacity) left - and only 450 calories left for the day!!! Forget it, how am I supposed to make do with that? My impression is that it's mostly men who have this huge number of calories to start their day with and have an abundance by dinner.

Either way, you're lucky! You can eat a meal and still have calories leftover to use! That is awesome! And something I NEVER experience.

    Good luck!

i really don't think you need to eat all your calories.. the more calories elft over..t he better for your weightloss ( and eys im sure will disagree) but as long as your above a minimum level, you'll be fine

    Hi,

As others, I eat nuts, protein drinks and 1 fruit. In example my workout today was 600 kcal - no way I will eat this, usually
try to spread over whole day at least half of workout.
