correct situps/crunches?

everytime i try to do these i feel absolutely noooo pain at all and i like to feel the burn.. that way i know im actually making progresss. i usually do it with my feet on the ground , knees bent, then my arms on my chest and yeahhh so on .... whats the correct way to feel the burn?

    Just because you don't "feel the burn" doesn't mean it isn't working. :)

    i usually feel it after im done...my stomach has a tendency to stay tight and after a day or two i feel the "burn'
