Annoying kids' shows

If you could choose one kids' show or cartoon to take off the air, never to see the light of day again, what would it be, and why?

My choice would be Spongebob Squarepants.... I can't stand the main character's laugh! If I wanted to hear someone bray like a *kitten*, I could listen to my husband. Plus, there are tons of adult references in that show...can't believe it's geared toward little kids.

A close second would be pretty much everything on Nickelodeon...if I talked to my momma like the kids in those shows talk to their parents, I'd be picking myself up out of the floor about ten feet away!

Sorry, but I have to say I do like Sponge Bob. lol... But I would take off The Adventures of Grim and Mandy. I hate that show. My oldest is now into sports or Discovery now, so that isn't too bad. But I still have an 8 yr old who like the annoying cartoons.

My thing is now, there is NO WAY my kids are watching MTV or VH1. Holly crap! It's like hooker TV! I'm not a conservative person, but that is sooooo not approprate for tweens. :noway:

Luckly they both aren't into TV too much I can usually shew them away.

Actually there are several toddler shows that drive me up the wall!!

    Bob the builder
    Big comfy couch
    Mole sisters

I'm sure there are more but I can't think of them right now.

    Sometimes I'm glad I don't watch tv anymore :)
Last annoying kids show I ever saw was Teletubbies because it didn't teach kids anything.

ok someone's probably going to hate me for this.... THE WIGGLES.... it was cute the first couple of times, but seriously. I don't know if it's rerun after rerun but I swear my kids watch it every day and EVERY DAY it's the same stupid scenes and stories in different orders. We get it, drink water. We get it, Captain Feathersword is upset no one remembers his birthday (but wait, yes they did!) and yes, we understand, Wags barks. ENOUGH ALREADY!! Write some new scripts for the love of Pete!:explode:

I think the Rugrat kids are gross.

And ditto on Teletubbies - bunch of baby babble! :grumble:

Jay Jay the Airplane (think that's what it's called). My lord those things creep me out hardcore. Everytime I see them I am like :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway: ....

So freakin scary....(but then I have a hardcore doll phobia....stop laughing, I had the scariest doll ever jump on me, yes *JUMP ON ME* as a kid, and to this day I can't walk through the doll aisle...*SHIVER*)

For the love of God look at that thing...it's terrifying!!!

Oh my gosh I am soo right there with ya! Yo Gabba Gabba is soooo....strange? It's like watching a show taped from the 70's or something!! I miss my Carebear and Strawberry Shortcake days.. My all Time favorite show wasn't a cartoon ..but does anyone remember Punky Brewster? I was addicted to that show when I was like five or six years old..even had the pig tails and freckles..looked just like her when I was little LOL!!!

Ok one more.... Charlie and Lola!! Don't get me wrong it's a cute cartoon but my 4 year old thinks that she's Lola.... she walks around with this stupid English accent and quotes stuff from the show. At first it was cute but now it's becoming a little creepy.... :noway:

I love spongebob- yes there are adult references thats so parents can enjoy the shows with there kids instead of being tortured like when you watched barney with your kids- if you watch any animated movie there is adult references- Even if you go back to the Lion king when he dropped down on the weeds in the sky the weeds spelled S_E_X then disappeared you have to put it in slow mo to see it also on the Little mermaid on the cover in the original in the castle is a how do I make this G-rated well I can't its what you would find in an adult toy store

As for spongebob when my husband was on his second tour in Iraq I sent him spongebob pillow cases as a joke he got upset and said why didn't you send me the full sheet set see men never grow up.. He even imitates patrick and squidward its hilarious and the kids love it too--

I don't mind any of the kids shows I guess cause i am used to it Hell I even know Hannah Montana songs--lol--

I agree I think I dropped a few IQ points watching a teletubbie show with my neice thats why when I had kids they weren't allowed to watch it I didnt even allow people to talk baby talk to my kids let alone watch a show where they spoke baby talk the entire time

Amen! My daughter likes this show, but it is sooooooooo annoying. Caillou is four, but he sure hasn't experienced much. His permissive parents get on my nerves. Everything is *ok* for him to do. "Caillou had never put his finger in the power socket before.....":explode:

My daughter likes cailou too. He is a bit whiny:tongue: and Bratty:tongue:
The one I can do without is It's a big big world. It's on PBS. The Sloth sounds high all the time:laugh: But my favorite one is Curious George. I can watch that with her all day:bigsmile:

Sponge Bob, totally. I have never allowed my kids to watch it. It is just toooooooooooooooooo mindless. Sure there are lots of mindless things on tv, but Sponge Bob takes the cake. It is just too stupid

Bear in the Big Blue House. I dont even know if its on anymore though. My 6 year old Autistic nephew watches it everyday on DVD... He gets an hour of tv everyday and that alway what he wants.... we're talking for the past 5 years or so.. omg, makes me crazy... if was cute the first couple times but now.... I don't know if anyone has seen it but when bear sniffs the screen and then tells you what you smell like geez, it's awful. lol, I don't know how my sister does it

haha I thought I was the only one with too much time on my hands. for the record, in the little mermaid, the preacher at the end when they are getting married has a visible erection, watch for it. And in Aladdin when aladdin is on Jasmines balcony and raja scares him turn up the volume VERY loud and you will hear "good little girls take off their clothes" no joke. hah. A guy i knew in high school wrote a paper on this stuff
