I just received my Timex Zone Trainer HRM in the mail and I am setting it up. I have the instructions, but it's so much. What should my target heart rate be? Does anyone have a Cliff's Notes version of how to set up/use my HRM so I don't have to spend my entire day trying to read this deck-of-card-sized instruction manual?

I have a different brand then you, but once I input my height, weight, age into it, it calculated my target zone for me.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll need to wait until I'm able to use it (tomorrow's workout) and try to fiddle with it to see how it really works. I think I got my info entered correctly, but if anyone else sees this, I appreciate all the help I can get. I knew I needed a HRM and I guses I know some of what it tracks, but I don't fully understand the whole thing.

I have a really basic version so I just put it on and it shows my heart rate when I work out. You can check for your heart rate zone here

There's alos a lot of stuff about what target zone you want to be in, there is a calculator online right here

    Good luck!!
