Have any of you all switched BC Pills and noticed side effects??
I have recently changed BC pills because my last pill has become discontinued ... sigh. I switched to Ortho Lo and my goodness, I feel hungry all the time, my emotions have been running wild, I'm craving EVERYTHING under the sun .... I just don't get it. Maybe my body needs to adjust but man, I didn't know it would be so tough.

I switched to Seasonique, and my first 3 months were hell. I was moody and my period when it came was excruciating. Since I started the second round of 3 months, it's much better. I'm no longer moody, and the cramps are gone. I have a hard time with BC pills in general. It always takes me 3-4 months before the side effects go away. Every woman is different, but if you really don't like it, call your doc and ask to be switched.0

I'm going through the same thing! I was originally on orthotricycline then went to the nuvaring with no side effects....but I felt like my hormones were off and i was depressed so I got put on Zoloft and lo estrine...well I feel actually pretty good. But am having some side effects...I am hungry, feel a bit of weight gain, but i've been spotting sooo much. Last month was the first month on it and I spotted for 3 week then the week of TOM I didn't have anything. I started my new pack last week and was fine but then then had a full TOM two days ago! But i'm on the second week of the white pills. My dr said that it can take up to 3 to 4 months for your body to regulate to a new BC.
If it's not better in two months for me i'm going back to my dr because i'm getting married in 5 months and will go off the pill anyway. No use in continuing to be all out of whack if i'm about to go off of it anyway...I just don't want to be having these issues on my honeymoon!0 -
I haven't switched but I can see how that can happen, hopefully once you get adjusted to them your body will go back to normal. All it takes is the slightest hormonal change to send things all crazy!0

I start my 4th different one tomorrow. I was on jasmine but the BC Center I go to didn't have them, then I was on orthotrycycline, and I felt I could murder someone with no problems...then I was on Allesse, and I cried when someone looked at me funny. But I figured that was better than being up for manslaughter...so I've been on Allesse for a few years now, and then the last 3 months my period went haywire. I got it a week before my pills were done...and then this month I didn't get it at all...So off to another brand...my fiance has to keep a look out to see how my PMS is, because if he can't handle me, i'll need to change them again. I'm dreading the side affects, but i really don't want to make babies...and the synthetic hormones control my PMS. I went off the pill for 6 months a couple of years ago, and it was bad...really bad...so I'm all for the synthetic progresterone being pumped into my body daily..it's either that or prozac~!0

Different. Pills have different effects. And it depends on the strength. I would talk to my doctor about that. You will gain weight with some and none with others. I hate that, sucks your other stuff got discontinued.0

I've been taking loestrin for 5 months and honestly haven't had a period in that whole time. There was light spotting for a couple days in the first month and then when my period should have been but ever since, absolutely nothing. It's funny because I went to a new doctor for a sinus infection/ear infection combo just a couple weeks ago and had to explain about 3 times why my last period was in September but I swear there is no way I'm pregnant (though the pill is usually our only form of BC so there is that slight chance lol).
I think a lot of the weight I've gained is due to the pill, but that's why I'm here, to lose it again! I do love that I don't even get a period on my pill. I need to call and get my prescription filled (the doctor gave me a 6 month supply and I'm starting the last pack this weekend). I hope the pharmacy I go to has it! I don't want to switch when I'm happy with my pill.0
