Can you eat calories before you burn them?

I have seen a lot of posts about people eating their calories back after exercising. So does that count for before and does it work the same? If I know I'm going to be doing some extra activites that is going to burn a few more calories than usual should I eat them before hand since I will not be eating them after. Thanks in advance for any advice.

yeh in my opinion it's the same principle!
I think people eat after for the energy! and also a little reward for the hard work.
I eat after because once i've worked out i need that bit of kick to get me going.
  • You could...but I wouldn't!

It doesn't matter whether you eat them before or after. I just eat them sometime in the course of the day. I typically eat them after because then I have an accurate count of how many I will burn, but it doesn't really matter in the long run.

i heard u are suppose to exercise then eat within an housr afterwards.

personally, i think as long as u exercise and burn them it all evens out the same!

thats how it works for me. sometimes i eat them first sometimes i burn them first.

I am not sure about that one I like to think of exersise calories as bonus, so therefore if I know I will need extra then I do the work to get them, if I ate them first I wouldn't be sure how many calories I was going to gain or I might change my mind and not bother.

I think that as long as you definetly work out afterwards to burn off the extra calories then yes thats fine. You just risk eating and then maybe not exercising later if something comes up ...hope this makes sense :)
