Goal Calories

What should I aim for? I am fairly new here--as you can see--and I'm a little confused on the normal calorie total (2300), the goal (1800) and the goal with exercise (-465 or so) . . . Most days I stay under the goal amount --about 1800 for me--(with or without exercise). My goal is weight loss. I heard I should be eating up to the higher number, but I don't want to sabotage my results by eating too much or too little.

Thank you for the help and support!

  • I think 1500 is a good goal for anyone. It's right smack dab in the middle, and easy to obtain.

Most people on here do 1200, but that can be dangerous seeing as that's the absolute lowest amount healthy to eat, so if you eat less than that you're doing your body harm.

if MFP is telling you to eat 1800 calories a day, then that is the minimum you should be eating, then if you excercise then you can eat those calories too, or just some of them:smile:
