I don't usually drink these specialty coffees but I had a craving this morning and had one on the way to work.. then when I got into work I checked the nutritional info - 300 cals and 50g of carbs in a medium "skinny" mocha!! argh the horror!!

As a former barista, I can tell you that it's the mocha that's to blame for the calories.

Most of the other "skinny" drinks have: Skim milk, Sugar-free syrup, and two shots of espresso

However, a grande skinny mocha consists of: Skim milk, 2 pumps of Sugar-free vanilla syrup, and 3 pumps of REGULAR (not sugar-free) mocha AND the espresso.

Try any of the other drinks, they'll have less calories for sure. A skinny hazelnut latte is pretty delicious.

I'm a fan of the skinny chai lattes with sugar-free vanilla syrup. 200 calories. I know it's the chai mix that makes it so high, but I used to drink them with whole milk and regular vanilla. Eek!

@Daisy89 --- why is a skinny mocha or sugar-free mocha not used?

#However, a grande skinny mocha consists of: Skim milk, 2 pumps of Sugar-free vanilla syrup, and 3 pumps of REGULAR (not sugar-free) mocha AND the espresso."

As a general rule of thumb, I assume that "skinny" drinks are in relation to the calories in the regular version of the drink and can still be quite calorific. There are exceptions to this rule, but I will also check the calories before ordering stuff like this.

You can get a brewed chai tea with milk and sf vanilla, tastes just as good and it's less calories, cheaper too because it's a brewed tea and not a special latte

I'm super intolerant of milk and milk products, that chai tea with milk won't work for me and the soy milk Starbucks uses is vanilla soy milk--the taste of vanilla appeals even less to me.

Those lactaid pills allow me to tolerate milk, howeve , very delicious is just a decaf coffee with SF mocha, no milk added or cream..i'm just curious how many calories and how many carbs.

From where? I logged a Venti (24 oz) Iced Skinny Mocha from Starbucks today for less than 200 calories. There was a significant amount of protein, too, which I was pleasantly surprised about.

I like to have a regular coffee and add half a packet of hot cocoa mix and some skim milk. Pretty low cal, cheap and delicious!

Ask to see the bottle next time, it should have the nutrition content on it

I do Starbucks skinny lattes (vanilla or cinnamon dolce) - an iced grande is only 80 calories. I only have 1-2 a month as a treat but 80 calories isnt bad!

I can't order the 'skinny' anything at starbucks, there's just some sort of mental block for me.
However I have no problem ordering fewer pumps and using skim milk. Three pumps of sweetener normally go into a tall - one is enough. Four pumps usually for a grande - 2 is more than enough. Some of the specialty combo flavors have even more!

Starbucks has no milk that i can tolerate, not one--am happy with the Decaf or Blonde coffee and the SF chocolate alone---am hoping that is low carb.
