Hello everyone! So, I'm a huge huge fan of the free On-Demand workouts on tv. Most of my cardio and strength training comes from either the Jillian Michaels or Jackie Warner programs. Anyway, I was curious if anyone knew how many calories I'm probably burning from the following workouts?
Jackie Warner Power Circuit Total Body (45 minutes)
Jillian Michaels Boost Metabolism (30 minutes)
Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred 1 (30 minutes)
If you don't know...is there a way I can find out or gauge this?
I googled the Jackie Warner program and I found someone's health blog that said it burned about 500 calories. Since I read that, I've been obsessed with that workout. But, I'm just not sure if that's true!! Help!! I want to keep my diet and exercise routine honest and accurate as possible. Thanks everyone!

I also do all the jillian workouts. the only real way to really really know is keeping track of your heart rate. I bought a sportline watch from walmart and you take your heartrate throughout the workout and it will tell you how many calories your burning. I gerally for one workout would probably burn i think around 200-250 calories and im about 155 right now so depending on your weight, you may burn less or more even. hope this helps! you can find that watch in the sports dept at walmart for around $30 I find it helpful while doing any workout, since it gives a more accurate calorie burn estimate0

I think the bigger question is, what is the goal? To be healthy and lose weight or to actually calorie count?
I use to calorie count and after counting calories for years, I realized I wasn’t healthy. I had lost weight but realized that wasn’t enough. Counting calories is harder to maintain, your immune system might not be up to par, and you may not be getting the proper nutrition your body needs. I watched Exercise TV’s live stream last week and the trainers also emphasized the importance of being healthy and not necessarily counting calories. It is making sure you are active, eating right, and getting the proper rest. Two of the trainers stressed that each person’s body is different so it is hard to gauge how many pounds you should lose each week. A good recommendation they had was noticing how your clothes fit. If your clothes are getting looser, you know you are doing something right.
Side note: Exercise TV has a great blog on their website that gives great healthy tips from eating to exercise. Sorry I didn’t answer your question directly but this may be better for you.

I have heard that too! I actually just googled it and someone said she burned about 294 in 30 minutes... doing the math, that about 9.8 per minute and 9.8 times 45 is 441.... it really depends on your weight though.. that girl weighed about 135.. hope that helps?0
