Buying a new scale.

So... I live at home and on the weekend my Mom bought a new scale. Since then, I have lost weight every single day (yes, I weigh myself everyday... shoot me!). Now I'm thinking there are some discrepancies between the 2. Which one should I go by?
I like the new one because it it gives point numbers (ie. 115.3) and the old one doesn't. The new one also calculates your body fat percentage, which I like as well.
Has anyone else bought a new scale half way through their weight-loss and noticed differences? What did you do?

That's really hard because I like to have a base to go from. I was using my home scale and the ones at the gyms I go to and I just couldn't ever settle on what the real number was. Of course, I always chose the smallest one . As long as you use the same one going forward, you'll have consistency. one other thing that I noticed, I have one of those body fat comp scales as well, and I have to step on and off several times to get a definite reading. It gives me one weight and then after stepping on and off a few times it settles into a stable number.0

I bought a new scale last year. I purchased a digital scale that I thought would be more accurate. I wanted to be able to see those 0.2 losses! At first, I was frustrated because the new scale weighed heavier than my old scale. It was a very small amount, less than 2 pounds. A year later, it doesn't matter one bit about those little pounds. I think as long as you are being consistent, and not going back and forth between scales, you should stick with the one you like the best!0

Hi I too changed scale during my weightloss to one that measures bodyfat and weighs to %of pounds, once i'd changed I just forgot the other make a clean break, imho!0

I bought a new scale and set them side by side and checked the weight. My new one was 4 lbs heavier and the more accurate one(weighed the same as Dr office). It also does all new cool BMI BMR and Bod Fat %. So I just adjusted my starting weight that way it would be more accurate.0

I bought a new scale too and it says I'm 3 lbs heavier....needless to say I was not a happy camper but I least I know the truth now...I know for sure that this one is accurate so I'll be sticking with it from now on....
Once you are sure nothing is worng with the new scale I say stick to it....0 -
I'm glad my new one isn't heavier, that would be discouraging for me, lucky for me its about 1lb-2lbs lighter. haha.0

Just take a handweight and put it on the scales to see how accurate it is. I was relieved to see 5.0 lbs exactly when I tested my scale with my 5lb handweight.
Also, gym scales or doctor's scales are probably right (well at least the dr scale). If you weigh first thing in the morning like me, the other scales will always say more because it's a different time of day. When I go to the doctor, I tell them not to tell me what it says because I can't stand hearing the higher number!! They always look at me like I have an eating disorder or something.

I put on a 5lb weight.
The new one said 4.8lbs, the old one wouldn't even register it. haha0
