You know you can do it -- even without the support group -- that's what separates the "survivors" from the rest of the pack, and you are a survivor.

I know what you mean about those around you wanting you to lose weight but not being there when you think you need them the most. I received all kinds of suggestions on how to lose weight right down to the health issues it could prevent me from entering. However, when I started losing weight all those who were willing to give me advice on how to lose weight also thought they knew best on the way I should lose it, how much, what foods, etc. So there's no good way out.

You're going to have to be like the rest of us and just step up and take charge of yourself and forget about the rest of "them" and do this on your own -- except you do have us to lean on when you need it.

This is really a solo battle that has to be waged against ourselves. We have to fight our own minds to keep us from lusting after food, we have to fight our own minds so that we can exercise when the body tries to convince us it doesn't want to. And more. That's a struggle "they" either don't have to face or aren't as strong as you to do it.

Hang in there. You CAN do it.

    Hey Mary,

Let me know if I can help in ANY way. I have been where you are and have so far had a lot of success (knock on wood). I thank God every day for giving me the will and strength and support to continue on this journey towards a healthy lifestyle. It is never an easy journey but I am convinced it is one that every person can have success with.

Best of luck! I KNOW you can do this!!!

I know how you feel, my husband eats potatoechips and candybares and is 6'1 weights 185. I on the other hand.... He frowns on everything that says diet or low cal on it, so I buy him his stuff and when I cook I use mine:devil: . He seldom notices and I will ask him if dinner was ok and he don't complain:laugh: I made a diet pop cake and he ate half of it by himself:bigsmile:
It is important to be healthy , not just for yourself but also to be a good role model for your children. My advise is buy things for him you don't get tempted with ( I buy ice cream for him and I have mine , which is low fat and with splenda) I don't care for potatoe chips so that's no problem but I eat pudding instead of candy bars. I also stock up on veggies and in season fruit so if I get hungry I have healthy things to snack on . The only thing I have cut out is fried food and the less processed the better.
We are here for you if you have a question or need to vent or just chat if youre bored, so come on the healthy wagon with us .:drinker:
