So what is my motivation and where has it been hiding?

Ive lost a large amount, trained and ran my first 1/2 marathon... came in dead last, with them picking up the pylons behind me... but I did it!! was feeling and looking really good... then.... I got complacent. Where did that get me? Put on 25pds, cant get to the gym, finding every excuse not to workout. Christmas was brutal... emotional hell followed with shovelling food in my face. now my jeans are retarded tight and muffin top does not even come close to proper discription.
so where am I now? looking under the bed, in the closet, and in the basement, in every fitness diet book on the shelf..trying to find what I already know......
Put down the fork, get off the couch, and move your *kitten*!
So there you go... I found my motivation....... hopefully it will hang around forever this time. And as for complacency? The hell with that Ive fought hard and long, this blood, sweat, and tears are mine and i will not be complacent ever again.

I've followed the same path before.. getting really healthy and then slacking off for just enough time to gain a bunch of weight. For some reason when I am at my biggest is when I don't want to go to the gym.. it makes no sense!
I just joined this site but I can already tell there are so many of us in the same situation! What a wonderful way to lend a motivational thought to someone in need, or get an encouraging message when we need it most!
Thank you for the post.

Like Carlita said, a lot of us can relate and I'm a big-time NON-MOTIVATED person (exercise wise and still struggling with, LOL) but I try to look at a year from now and if I don't change what I'm doing, I will be in the same situation as I am in today. Our minds are the biggest part of us we need to change in order to be successful at becoming healthy and fit. Good luck on your journey, this is a fantastic place to be while working towards your goals. Everyone is very supportive here and you know you are not alone!0
