Insanity - Starting 1/26/2011

Back in November, I started Beachbody's Insanity program. I got through the first three weeks and then school finals and Christmas got me off track. I jumped back on the last week of December and have been irregular about working out. I've been browsing around the forums and saw somebody else's blog about their fitness and decided that I needed something extra to keep me motivated. I haven't had a set goal since hitting 200 pounds about a month ago. I've been wishy washy because I haven't sat down and firmly established a new goal, so I'm starting this thread to establish that goal and to invite anybody along who'd like to participate.
My goal is to compete a round of Insanity by March 30. Based on my HRM data from my previous workouts, I burn ~550 calories a workout. This is only doing the first moth workouts. I know the second month goes for longer so that will go higher. But, I am setting my daily calorie allotment at 2,200 calories a day for food. This will result in a net calorie consumption of 1,650 a day.
Okay, the long term goal is set.
My first workout will happen today after work, before dinner. I've started a blog where I'll post my starting pictures, the results of my fit test and calories burned. The blog is posted at http://insanitytripping.blogspot.com/
Any and all are welcome to join in, whether you're doing Insanity, P90X, or any of the other Beachbody products or if you just want somewhere to come to help you stay motivated.

Great goal! I was thinking of starting back into Insanity myself. I'm a little scared to though. Had my 3rd baby 2.5 months ago and I haven't done Insanity for almost a year and I'm not in as good a shape as the last time I started it. Guess you gotta start somewhere though, right??
I'll be following your progress. Go get 'em!0 -
OKAY SO I STARTED INSANITY AT ONE TIME AND GOT THROUGH THREE WEEKS AS WELL...........THAN VACATION CAME ABOUT AND MOVING. I REALLY WANT TO START AGAIN AS WELL AND WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE WAS DOING IT TOO. AND HERE YOU ARE!! LOL. SO I AM DOWN AND WILL START TONIGHT AS WELL!!0

Alright! It's good to have some followers and some fellow exercisers. Welcome and good luck. It would be great to see your starting stats so we can keep track of each other. I published everything to my blog. Good luck and Dig Deeper!0

Going to be starting this weekend (1/29). I am scared as H**L, but I really need something to jump start my weight loss. I have been watching and exercising all month with only a 2 pound loss. I am beyond frustrated and I really hope that I can do this. I am not in horrible shape but not good shape either and I have about 20 pounds to lose. Lets keep this board going!0

LOL! I was scared also to start, but I am glad I did! Remeber you can always modify, and once you see how the people on the video take breaks you won't feel so intimidated! I am on day 11!! So far its been awesome!!0 -
I am on day 11 and I have really enjoyed it so far!! I guess you guys know the first week will be a little tough, it was for me, cause I was sore, but this second week has been so much better!! I like blogs, especially if it will be about Insanity!!0

I'm really looking forward to seeing my friend who started with me yesterday. Sure it was just the fit test, but she was talking about how jell-o her legs were. I'm luck that I've already kind of been doing it. Just have to keep digging and the strength will come. I also stalled a little bit this month with my weight loss and even my measurements weren't moving much. I blame a lack of commitment to any kind of regular exercise regiment and bad eating. But starting yesterday, I'm committed and even this morning the scale was showing a happy number so it looks like this party is off to a good start for me.0

I am on day 11 as well and I totally agree that this week I am not as sore as last week. Has anyone used a post workout shake/bar after doing their workouts? I am curious if they are worth it...0

The results and recovery formula is "nice", but after we used it for awhile we went ahead and switched to a good whey protein for recovery. BSN Syntha -6 whey protein is good and costs less.0 -
I'm doing Insanity, week 5 right now.
I use the Results and Recovery formula for post workout. I rarely have sore muscles with it.0 -
lol, didn't quote like i wanted it to!! I have used several stuff, including the recovery drink! I just ordered more and will use it until it runs out!! I also like whey protein, chocolate milk, oj, or even apple juice as recovery, just make it a 4:1 ratio!!0

I am just completing week 1 of Insanity today. So far so good. Loving it.0

I'm looking forward to reading your blog! I just finished week 1 today. Like you (except in Oct.) I got through the first 2 weeks of Insanity, saw a major difference in my Fit Test and then life got in the way. We can do it this time around!!0

I'm scheduled to finish on March 16th. I just did my 2nd Fit Test today and had amazing results (compared to my first attempt).
Good luck to everyone!

Okay, tonight was a great kick off to the actual workouts with the plyometrics. If you all don't have somebody to work out, I am going to strongly recommend you recruit somebody to work out with you. If tonight was any indication of the benefit of a workout, buddy, I am really looking forward to the next several weeks. My previous high calorie burn was just over 600 calories. Tonight I managed to hit 691!
Welcome to all who have joined the thread. It's nice to see that we're not alone and hopefully we can be a motivation for each other as the weeks progress. If any of you all want to add me as a friend, feel free to do so. I've updated the blog for tonight.
Peace!0 -
The blog is updated. Tomorrow is a rest day, and I think I'm going to make it a fast day as well. I do this about once a month. It's a good chance to kind of 'reset' my body. Hope everybody is doing well and seeing the progress they're looking for.0

Week 1 is officially in the can and No Fast Food February is off to a great start!

It seems this is becoming a one-man thread, but I'm keeping it going because I want to show my results from Fit Test # 2 of Insanity!

Hey, glad to see this thread hasn't been forgotten. I didn't want to be the only one updating it. I just posted up a new entry on my blog today. I started using Shakeology and the Results and Recovery Formula. Both taste great, and I'm just hoping that they give me the boost they advertise. I'll keep ya'll posted on how it goes, for sure!0
