Still Tired

I'm eating better, I have lost some weight and I'm working out a few times a week and I'm still tired. I have had blood work drawn so I know its nothing like that. But I have no motivation or energy.

I worked out this morning for 25 min and I now have no energy. So I went to the mall to take a walk since it was cold and I felt like I was going to fall asleep while I was walking. Now I have homework to do and I just want to drink a monster for a little bit of energy but I know that's not the answer.

I also have started to take vitamin B. I have been on this for over a month now.

Help please, any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hey turtle!! What time do you go to bed at night? Get up in the morning? How often do you wake up in the middle of the night? Have you ever been tested for sleep apnea?
  • It depends on if I work or not. 10 on nights that I dont work and I get up at 7. Then If I work its about 1130-6ish... Sometimes I have to get up in the middle of the night at work to help my lady out.
At home I don't normally get up anymore.

I just went through the same thing this past year. I had every blood test done you can imagine...TWICE. I was finally diagnosed with sleep apnea and my fatigue is getting better although I have to take medicine to keep me awake when I drive. Here are some simple things you can try. If these work, it may not be sleep apnea:

Avoid carbs and sugar for breakfast
(your body may not process is right which can cause a "crash" in just a few short hours, try proteins like eggs or wheat toast with peanut butter)
Make sure you are getting atleast 7 hours of sleep a night and no more than 9
(I saw you are barely getting 6 1/2 on nights you work and that can cause sleep deprivation over time. Also too much sleep can actually make you more tired.)
Monitor your sugar and avoid energy drinks or any sugar beverages.
(Try to notice if your hands every get shaky during the day or if you get light headed, this can be caused by irregular blood sugars and results in fatigue. Energy drinks, no matter how much they might help short-term, only make the problem worse.)

If none of that works, go to your doctor and tell them you are still having problems. It may be a sleeping disorder or depression/stress.

Could you be suffering from stress or depression? When I was going through marriage problems it threw me into an extreme depression. I'd go to the gym and do awesome on my first few lifts(due to anger), but I'd quickly lose my motivation, and I'd be lucky to get through half a workout. I was always tired, and wanted to sleep all the time. If you are stressed about things it can affect your energy levels.
