So. This week I have been doing something a little different. If I choose to eat something that is higher than allotted for the day in calories I have been dividing the food into a portion size that I can have and throwing the other away or giving it to someone else to eat before I even sit down to eat my food. The temptation to want to eat more disappears and I can just sit, relax, and enjoy what i have in front of me. No worrying about whether i will eat it all or having to really think about how much I am eating. I have tried the take it in a to-go box and save it for later but that doesnt work for me. I either eat it when i get home or I eat before i am even at home. Yes I have control issues which is the main reason i am overweight! So God help me that this will help!!!!!!

Has anyone else tried this method?

Yep. I once got a stupid craving for Double stuff vanilla oreos, Nothing else would do so I bought a bag, ate three and chunked the rest. I know there are folks that are going to gasp at the idea of tossing perfectly good food, but it worked for me. I had what I wanted and I didn't have the temptation lying around the house all weekend.

I also portion stuff as soon as I finish cooking it and put the extra portions right in the fridge.I use the eat off a small plate trick too. They all help me out a bit. :)
