What does your body need after working out?

After a long run - 10 km or more or an intense weight lifting session I have 1 merca of 100% glutamine which helps repair the muscles and a protein shake mixed with a little gatorade. It helps replenish the body.
Just like workouts, everyone has a different opinion of what to take.
You should have some time of protein within 30 minutes of a strenuous workout.
