Does anyone know how many calories an egg in a basket is?? If you don't already know...

-You take a piece of bread (I used wheat)
-You put a small whole in it big enough to put an egg in it
-You put butter in the pan & let it melt
-Than when the butter is melted you put the bread with the whole in it on the pan
-Let it toast a little, than crack the egg into the whole
-Let it cook until the egg is fried or over easy...However you like it.

I searched google our database and couldn't find how many calories it was (with the yolk)
I hope its not to many :( I already ate it...

I love those!!! I usually count the calories in the slice of bread you used, then the egg, and also the butter. I haven't found one put all together so I just add it up separate.

I agree with others... just put in the separate ingredients. It shouldn't be too bad unless you used a ton of butter! Next time add some cheese on top too... yum!

I too would suggest you just do each ingredient separate ....

My super light version would be 160 cal:

1 Slice Brownberry Grains n More Double Fiber bread - 80 cal per slice
1 Meijer Organics egg - 80 cal per egg

I toast the bread in the toaster first and then cut out the hole. Then you can just use nonstick cooking spray like PAM to cook the egg in the basket.

If I want a little butter flavor i spread 1-2 tsp of Olivio Light Margarine onto the bread which bumps it up to 194. It's a very filling 200 calories!

Like others have said - add each ingredient in separately. That will also help if you want to try and tweak it later on to make it lower cal.

You can always use the "recipe" tool and create it that way-so you don't have to add each ingredient seperately each time you have it.
