Ouchies! Anyone have pain advice?

So, I get these weird pains sometimes that my trainer thinks are related to my sciatic nerve. It'll hurt like heeeck for a short while to a day but then tends to die off pretty fast. I just can't do a lot of full body exercises without aggravating it.
I know this isn't a doctor's office but I wondered if anyone else has had this? Any idea what I can do to get rid of it? My trainer seems to think I need more core strength/ lower back stretching. What do you think?
Thanks everyone!!

Sounds painful and serious. Do you think you might want to check with your doctor?0

I'm not sure. It goes away pretty fast but it does keep coming back when I do anything full body (like burpees). I'll see if working on my back strength helps first. Everything online says rest and ice is all that can be done unless it gets more serious. I so don't want surgery >_<
Thank you for your response though.0
