Sugar Shake up

I've been doing well on my calories, fat, sodium, carbs etc but the sugar limit is driving me nuts! Sodium seems so high and I don't care for salt. I go over my sugar limit almost every day. Realistically, how bad is extra sugar? It's not that much more, I just don't want to blow my weight loss efforts.

I actually just quit counting my sugars. It made me sad to see how I routinely went over. The biggest thing you need to think about is...Where are most of your sugars coming from? If it's fruits/veggies/whole grains...IMO that's not a big deal. If they're coming from processed items, cut those out.0

i go over my sugar everyday too. I've heard that if it's natural sugar (from fruits and veggies) then don't worry about it. It's the refined sugar you should be concerned about. I've invested in a lot of sugar free snacks. I've also found Minute Maid Light OJ. 8 oz doesn't count against you if you want some juice with a meal.0

The extra sugar is not likely to mess with your weight loss. Hopefully, it is things like fruit and milk that are putting you over the edge? Foods like that contain natural sugars and mfp cannot tell tell the difference between that and "added sugar". This being said, its hard to accurately count. I would maybe choose a different category for your counter, or remember that sugar coming from a banana is way more healthy than the sugar added to cereal, granola bars, juice, etc.0
