For the first time in a year I am doing a 1 hour workout a day of cardio 3 days a week. The other two a mixed cardio, yoga, and strength training for 45 mins. More than one day out of the week it seems that I only workout for you guys! =] If I can't do it for me, I do it for you ....I want us all to succeed! Anyways I thought since I workout out like this...I would start losing weight? No. Nothing. What could I be doing wrong? My diet is pretty good as far as calories go....I thought 2 lbs a week was a normal healthy weight lose. Why cant I even do one pound? I am desperately trying to figure out why I am not losing wight. Is is possible that I am already use to my exercise program already? Any tips and suggestions are greatly appreciated! =]

Don't get to down...try to find what your eatin'...I knew Sodium is my weakness and I have watched what I eat in sodium amounts. Have you taken measurements? and have lost inches? You keepin' up with the water intake?. Are you gettin' more toned up, gainin' muscle will keep the weight on. Maybe review your last week meal plan and see what you can tweek...best wishes xo

there could be many factors. TOM, stress, when you weigh, what you do directly before you weigh, etc. Personally I do one pound a week, and I make sure I eat a lot of my calories of what I've burned. Just don't get depressed. Sometimes I don't drop for 2-3 weeks, then all of a sudden, 3 pounds drop off. Again, don't get discouraged. We are all here for you.

when did you start this exercise routine? How long have you been doing this?
  • How often do you weigh? Sometimes I think we can weigh to often and be discouraged. I weigh once a week and I use the same scale (like the one at a doctors office), on the same day and at the same time. For me it is on saturday after 2 hours after breakfast but before lunch and after my cardio work out and naked

Also make sure you are eating some if not all of the calories you burn in exercise. If you starve your body it will begin to store fat out of defence of itself. Eventually that will change but often that is why I have had slow starts.

Keep going you will bust through the wall

i know from a friend that if you are quite big and have been for a while, it can take a while to start to lose weight - she stuck at it for a good few months before she lost anything. also, just going by weight doesn't take into account fat/muscle ratio - muscle weighs a lot more than fat, so it may be that (especially with strengthening exercises) you are getting rid of fat, but gaining muscle so your weight isn't going down - maybe keep a record of measurements and see if there's any change??
    sorry if that's a bit vague :S
  • Nah! I have not measured in a while! I will start doing that!
  • Than I am not the only one! Thanks! Maybe our bodies are going to be the same with weight lose than.=]

  • I have not had time to even full out my food diary on here. =[ I was looking into my diet yesterday and my calories add up to about 1,000.( not enough) I try to stay at 1,200. Most of that is carbs. I thought your diet should be 50 percent carb 30 percent protein and 20 percent fat?. I don't get enough protein, I knot that for a fact.Could stress keep you from losing weight?
