I don't really take any vitamins, and figured that I probably really need them now that I'm dieting/exercising... so I was wondering what types of vitamins should be taken daily? I have a multi-vitamin, but was wondering if there are any others I should include?

I noticed when I started on the road to better health I wasn't getting enough calcium since I was cutting down on cheese and whole milk so I added a Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc supplement. Also, Calcium and Magnesium are great for sore muscles and help you relax as well as provide the obvious bone strengthening. Zinc helps boost your immune system so you get lots of good stuff with that one.
I'm also contemplating adding an iron supplement because the red meats and organ meats like chicken livers (that I know gross other people out, but that I love) that are very high in iron are also high in cholesterol. I have been watching my iron intake and even with things like oatmeal, broccoli and spinach I find it very difficult to meet my daily requirement. I will probably see if I can add a very small amount because it's never a good idea to go over-board with iron.
Another supplement that might be nice to add is a B-complex, but make sure you're adding a small amount that you take with another multi-vitamin. The best place to get B vitamins is from un-peeled root vegetables like carrots, potatoes, beets and parsnips, but a B-complex supplement in the morning with your multi-vitamin can make you feel wonderfully energized all day long.
    I hope that helps!
