Just To Shake It Up.. Thoughts

So this month I pretty much went into a cut phase.. I'm talking about 2 days of lifting with hard cardio and then 2 days of hard cardio alone.. In my opinion I've gotten my cardio back up where it needed to be.. Now I'm wanting to shake it up and see how my body responds..

Usually I do my cardio work first then hit the weights. So it goes like this:

Monday- Jog, Stationary bike, Upper Body Weight Lifting
Tuesday- Stairmaster, elliptical
Wednesday- Rest
Thursday- Same as Tuesday
Friday- Treadmill, Bike, Lower body workout.

Now I'm wanting to change it to:
Monday- Biceps and Triceps Weight Training, Jog
Tuesday- Leg Weight Training, Stairmaster
Wednesday- Rest
Thursday- Chest, Shoulders, Back Weight Training, Incline Elliptical
Friday- Core Workout, Jog/Treadmill.

Any thoughts if this is a good idea or should I stick with what works?

  • I wouldn't necessarily stick with what works because after a while the body gets used to a certain routine and stops responding to it. Changing it up from time to time is always a good idea..it confuses the muscles, which is a good thing. Good luck!

    Mix it up. Your body gets use to the same thing day after day. You want muscle confusion.
