Is it okay to create a calorie deficit (through diet and exercise) by the end of the week, instead of a day to day basis?

Just so you eat your daily calories and everything, I really don't see a problem with it.

Yep, that's actually how Weight Watchers works, they just put their own spin on it with the points. They've always had their banked points for a week, which is basically the same as having a weekly calorie deficit for the week. So if you were allowing yourself 1500 calories a day, that gives you 10,500 calories per week. Say you knew you were going to go out for a big dinner on Friday, you could eat 1400 calories Mon-Thurs to give you an extra 400 for Friday, so you'd have 1900 on Friday instead of 1500. As long as it rounds out for the week and as long as you don't go too extreme with limiting yourself on any given day you'll still have success.

    Hope that made sense! :-)
