Hi everyone!

I am going to a friend's house for dinner tomorrow night and they are making Shrimp Etouffee for me. What kind of wine would you pair with this?

Cheers :drinker:

Pinot Gris would be nice on the palette uness you are a red drinker and in that case maybe a Pinot Noir.

Maurice Carrie Charddonnay.... It's my favorite with Sea food! Any Charddonay will work though...Foxhorn isn't bad either if your on a budget...it's my favorite "cheap" Charddonay!

Thanks for the Chardonnay tip! I usually buy Cupcake or Bonterra, but haven't found any other reasonably priced ones that I actually "like".

Thanks! I've always been a red wine drinker and just within the last year I've gotten into a few whites.... dry rieslings and chardonnays, but still learning what I do and don't like. :drinker:

A gewurz is not the first thing people think of, but it may make you a star. Bogle has a decent under $10 version, otherwise I would get one from Alsace--Gustav Lorentz has a $17 bottle that I paired with a butternut squash bisque/chicken andouille/bourbon creme course at a christmas dinner that turned out to be a perfect match.

Otherwise, a riesling--Monchhof is consistently good.

I would have also said Pacific Rim, but I had a 2009 last night and was really disappointed compared to 2008.
