Need a good spark to get me back to the gym

So...here's my dilemma...I had a great routing going once where I would drop off my oldest at school and the other two and me would head to the gym and I got in some really great workouts! The problem I have now is that my oldest switched schools. So now he doesn't even start school until 9. Worse, he decided to start taking the bus which CRUSHED my motivation. Now I'm having trouble getting up and getting around to dressing the little ones and myself and taking us to the gym. It's frustrating because I want to start driving my oldest to school again, but even if I did that his school is in the opposite direction of the gym now. Can anyone give me some kind of a spark of motivation back?????

you need to start writing it on the calendar and treating it like an appt. You could also find someone that goes to the gym that you could meet there everyday for workouts. If you know someone is waiting on you, you will make an effort to go. You could also ask the little ones to start reminding you to go, depending on their ages. I hope this helps, good luck......
  • The hardest part is getting in the gym door. If you push yourself for a few days it will become habit and no longer the chore that it is right now!!

    Best of luck with it!!

I treat my 4:30 am work outs as an important meeting that I MUST make. I also set a specific rest day so that when I am laying in bed I cant say "today is my rest day" every day. A set schedule helps me get out and go. I also pack everything (food, clothes, work papers, etc.) the night before so all I have to do in the morning is grab my stuff, dress, and go.

    Good luck!

I hear you. I used to have to bring my girls to the bus stop and wait with them - so it was easy to go to the gym from there. Ever since my girls take the public transit system, I don't have to leave the house anymore, so it is really hard to get motivated. That being said, is it possible to get your son ready and the little ones at the same time?

    Or go a bit later?

I agree with themommie though - i have always been told to treat it like an appointment - you wouldn't flip off the dentist cause you didn't feel like it.

I really hope you find the motivation - either within, or from those around you, to keep you going =)

    Good Luck!
