P90x: Lean vs. classic

As a 43yr male with a BMI that is on the high side of overweight, I am wondering whether to do the lean program or not, when I start. I'm planning to ultimately arrive at about 200lbs and do want "some" muscle, as I don't exactly look stunning being just thin, either, but I am wondering if first I should stand to concentrate on weight loss at first, or just forge ahead with the standard program, working on building muscle and removing the fat as a byproduct. Not sure what to do, since this is no 1-month project and it's likely I will want to do this 90day thing more than once. Thoughts?

Honestly, I see the Lean rotation more as a P90X-Lite version and not necessarily a rotation that is more cardio focused. If you are really out of shape and intimidated by a ton of pushups and pullups on day #1, I would go with Lean. I was scared to death of day #1 classic because I could not do a single push up on my toes. I did Lean instead and it was a great choice for my first round (I did doubles and then P90x+ after that). Had I started with Classic, I think I just would have felt in over my head and quit.0

I'm doing the lean and am 29 days in. I really do like it. It's hard and somedays I'm like really? But b/c I joined a group on here I keep doing it. It's really making a difference in my shape and muscle tone.
Try the lean and then do the classic.0
