Okay...so to make a story short...i lost 6 lbs in 2 weeks and now my body has hit a stand still. Idk what to do. I workout 5 to 6 times a week. I eat no more than 1200 calories a day...nothings changing anymore and I'm swaying from 190 to 191 every day. Ugh. I'm so frustrated. Help!

I feel your pain but stick with it. It's been a month for me and I'm doing the same - no more than 1200 calories, working out everyday and so far this month I've lost 7 lbs and it isn't creeping down. I look at it as 1) I'm not gaining, 2) I've lost 7 lbs and 3) It took me a long time to get out of shape so I have to give it as much time to get back in shape. 4) 1200 calories and working out everyday sure beats the alternative! Hang in there and stick with it even if it is only a few ounces. As time goes on all those ounces will add up and you'll have lost the weight you want to loose.0

Sounds like you just need to be patient and know it took some time to put the weight on so don't expect it to just be a super quick process. It sounds like you are on the scale daily if you notice it fluctuating. It's like putting a turkey in the oven and taking a seat at the oven waiting for it to be done. Relax and allow your mind to wrap itself around appreciating the 6 pounds you've lost. You will lose more if you are taking in less calories and working out 5 to 6 days a week. Just be patient and whatever you do don't give up. it's going to be okay, you will see changes.0

Are you inputting your exercise calories burned and you're still at 1,200. Make sure that your still at or above 1,200 after exercise!0

You've hit a plateau, my dear. This might sound crazy, but for one day DON'T exercise and eat 1800 (or more) calories. If you think I'm crazy, here's an article where Jillian Michaels says to do just that! (She says to do it for FIVE days, I say do it for one or two, but that's just me!)

You also have to zigzag your calories. If you only eat 1200 calories a day your body gets used to it and doesn't lose fat anymore. You can either up your calories by a few every other day, or exercise more intensely, or exercise longer. The key is to keep your body guessing. Here's a calculator that helps A LOT!

Also make sure you're eating healthy: 3 fruit servings and 5 veggie servings--at least! Hope this helps0 -
Switch it up! Keep your body guessing!
Have a higher calorie day followed by a lower calorie day.
Have higher carb days followed by lower carb day.
Switch up your exercise that you normally do.
When I'm in a rut, I switch it up and it almost always makes a difference! Also, not all weight loss is on the scale esp if you've been working out

This is true, It does work. I am a personal witness.......it's like shocking your system into action and it works!0 -
I just started back on the 9th and I lost 5 pounds first week and haven't lost any since.. so I feel your pain. I changed it up so it says I should lose 2 pounds a week and it took away 300 calories and I've been working out too.. just give it time and keep going!!0

I don't think you're eating enough calories. I know it sounds weird, but if you're exercising every day and still only eating 1200 - that's not enough. In my opinion, you should eat the calories you burn off exercising. I've seen others say to eat at least half of your exercise calories... either way, 1200 when you're exercising is too few.
Don't give up. Keep working to find what will work for you.
Best of luck!0 -
The same thing has happened to me over the past 3 weeks! Thanks for all of the information and suggestions everyone has mentioned above. It sounds like my body is getting use to 1200 calories or just over and my workouts!! I guess I will increase calories for one day and switchup my workout routines and see if that helps. So, happy we have these message boards so that we can help each other along the way to a healthier and happier life!!!!! :flowerforyou:0

Thanks I really appreciate. I think too much sometimes and just get impatient. If only these things happened overnight. Haha.0
