swimming training this morning and I thought I might just venture to the out door pool. :indifferent: it was freezing. swimming in very cold water; would I have burnt more calories than usual?:tongue:

    Since you're not complaining about hypothermia I doubt it.

    Yes, you probably would be. your body will be burning energy to keep your core temp around 37deg while the cold water cools you down.

    I'd pretend you didn't burn any extrathough, unless you're desperate for a few extra calories to be able to eat something else!

    If you swam the same distance any faster because of it then perhaps.

    If you were in and out like a shot then probably not.
