In what order do you all lose weight? I noticed when I first started, in 2010, I was always a size or two smaller in my butt/legs than what I could actually button around my mid-section. Right now, same thing!! I look in the mirror and am pretty satisfied with my butt/legs, but disgusted by my tummy, "back fat," arms, and double chin. Some people refer to themselves as "pear-shaped.." I am the opposite! Like an upside-down pear.

I've heard that the first place you put the weight on is the last place you will take it off. I don't know where my weight started, lol. It just sort of came on all at once. I know you can't spot reduce, so all I can do is just keep plugging away. It's very frustrating, though, to look in the mirror during a fitness class and be pleasantly surprised with the way the contour of your butt is shaping up while you're doing a squat, but then glance over again during a crunch, and see your mid-section all puffy and fat!!

Let me make you feel REAL good about yourself. I am rectangle. There it is!! I am pretty sure I am shaped like a man, I have tree trunk legs, thighs, no waist & NO chest. You asked where I " lose" weight first? My first thought is that I "gain" weight in my face first. No joke and the pictures don't lie! So please do continue on your journey, I think you are beautiful and I am proud of your successes!!

Hm, well I lost fat everywhere but the order I noticed:

    Upper Chest/Back > Face > Oblique Abs/Calves > Upper Abs/Butt > Middle Abs/Some Lower Back/Thighs > Some Lower Abs

Still waiting for the rest of my lower back and lower stomach, but I can tell I am closing in finally.

I don't know where I put it on first, and I don't know where I'm losing it. I think it's coming off everywhere at once. I'm not noticing a difference anywhere, but the scale shows a loss and my pants are looser, so it must be coming from somewhere.

My issue is that after my second child was born, I got really wide in the hip/thigh area. I wasn't overweight at the time, but I was way wider there than I ever was before. Now I'm worried that I'll keep that shape forever, even after I lose the weight. But, one day at a time, right?
  • Rectangle? LMAO! I love how everyone on this web site has such a great sense of humor about their journeys/body image. It really makes the whole thing easier, doesn't it! Thanks for the compliment..... Spongebob. Hehehe. YealLift, you lose in the opposite direction as me! I'm losing from the ground upward.
  • Londry, does it come off your face easily? I sware, my face looks like a 400 lb woman's face (my profile pic is extremely flattering; my hair + the side profile angle is hiding it). My mid-section looks like the Pillsberry Dough Girl. But my @ss and my legs are getting mighty fine!!

Argh. Why can't our bodies just be EVEN!!!
