Hello Everyone. I wanted to introduce myself and hopefully at some point in the near future be an example, that a person can change. I've been heavy weight all my life, even from when I was born at 9 lbs. 3 oz. I'm currently about double the weight I should be (by medical standards), but I am thick bone (like my dad) and losing 3/4 of that extra person off of me, is what i'm looking forward to. I've been a member of myfitnesspal.com for a few months now, but I was never committed, until now. I always thought I was fine, I have a family that loves me, I've been married now for 3 years, and I have always felt healthy. Unfortunately, all this was not true in reality. My family loves me of course and so does my husband, but my health is in serious jeopardy. Also, I have always been a big role model in my family, the first to go to college, get more than one degree and stick to things I have always wanted to do. My family knows me as; "the look forward and not look back girl". Unfortunately, this has caused one of my nieces to think unhealthy, like I have been doing my whole life, until now. She is my weight, but half my age. As much as I now care for myself, I care even more for her.

I was born with two heart conditions (one more serious than the other). I never really knew how many health conditions my family had that are hereditary. And now on top of finding out about all these things and realizing how long I would live to (if I continue to not take care of myself), my husband and I want to start a family of our own. I've also realized that I was never in any real shape to start with (unless you consider round one of them  ) I can't keep up with my nieces and nephew (the healthy ones), and sometimes I feel I can do my job properly, and that is a BIG issue in my line of work). I hope to lose the weight I want to gradually and steady, that way I can be a BETTER role model, not only to other people in the world and on myfitnesspal.com but especially to my niece and other people in my family.

Wish me luck and good luck to all of you with the same dreams and endeavors. You WILL get there.
