I do really good during the week while I am at work, but when the weekend comes or a day off during the week it seems that I am always snacking. I try to keep healthy stuff in the house for snacking but it does not seem to do the trick. Suggestions please.

Just try and keep yourself busy! Do you have any hobbies you like?
Or make a hot cup of tea for a nice treat.
I have always had that same problem, and ive done good so far this weekend keeping myself busy with other things. Also when i wanted to snack and eat I actaully came here yesterday and was motivated not to give in! Good luck today!0 -
I have the same problem .... so i do mini workouts ... maybe ill run up and down the stairs in my apt building for 5 mins, maybe Ill power walk in place for 5mins, maybe Ill do 25 jumping jacks, sit ups, push ups, etc ... I dont log any of these mini work outs because it would become tooo tedious BUT it takes my mind off snacking
I need to learn how to knit or something .... LOL0 -
I would try and figure out -why- you're snacking. I've been battling snacking for boredom for... my entire life. I agree with another poster that suggested finding a hobby or something to occupy your time with.
Otherwise, just make sure you have healthier options to what you're craving for a snack, which it sounds like you're already doing.
Good luck!!0 -
Yep! That used to be me too. Before I started my program I was very worried about it, too. But I committed and decided If I wanted to make this a life long habit, I needed to change it. Now....its a piece of cake. Food is no longer on my mind. I stay busy with many other things. I plan my weekend to be busy so that I don't have to think about food. Committ and you will succeed.0

i agree with misty, keep busy, drink lots of water or just go for a walk. There is always something around the house needs doing, lol0

When I find myself reaching for something to eat. I ask "Am I hungry?" If you're hungry, eat. If you're just bored, do something else. I find that drinking alot of fluids during the day make me not as hungry. I like diet soda (I know it's bad but it keeps me from eating) and coffee and water.0

I agree as well. Whenever I get an urge I drink a full glass of water. usually it fills my stomach so the urge subsides0 -

Turkey pepperoni microwaved for 1-1.5 minutes turns into a crispy low-fat, high-protein snack for when you just need some crunch. I also keep low-fat cheese and my favorite berries on hand for a quick snack. The berries (especially this time of year) seems to be too costly when your in the grocery store, but I look at it like this. Was I worried about the fact that a bag of Doritos cost $4/bag...? NO. So why am I concerned that a container of strawberries is $4...? Top them with a dollap of light/free Cool-whip and its a tasty little indulgence! Emerald cocoa dusted almonds are also heavenly.....! Oh....hummus and fresh veggies is a great snack to reach for as well.....Good luck from a fellow snacker!!!0
