Sauna at the gym

Hello all.. I was wondering if anyone knew if the sauna was beneficial in any way. I know that it excretes mostly water weight, but other than that I am not sure. After each work out I go in for about 15-20 minutes to stretch and relax in there. Am I wasting my time???

If you are expecting to lose weight, yes. As far as "toxins" go.....well, you shouldn't be doing that in the sauna anyway.0

Thanks... I will continue to stick with it then!0

ROTFL.
Me, occasional sauna visits followed by a cool shower make me feel refreshed and remind me of a happy time in my life. Plus, it's included in my gym membership. I'm under no illusions that it'll do anything for weight loss, but not everything in life is about weight loss.0 -
cold shower actually raises your BMR for up to a few hours after.
your body has to work harder to keep you warm (you barely notice), hence burns more calories doing it.
Small addition, but every little bit helps
Sauna will do hardly anything but dehydrate you. which is exactly what you DONT want right after exersice. But it is invigorating for sure!!! Espesically mixed with a cold shower right after!0 -
Thanks eveyone for the suggestions!0

That's why you wear a towel around your bottom and don't lean against anything with bare skin.:noway: :laugh:0
