Slow Cooker Oatmeal Recipe
I saw a post that someone had for a Oatmeal that she put in the crockpot while on vacation. It had like cranberries and some other stuff in it. I have searched for it but can't find the exact one! I would really like to find that person or recipe again. Anyone know??

Alton Brown has a slow-cooker recipe for oatmeal. I have never tried it, but I have done oats in the crock pot before and I find they turn out a bit too mushy and gruel-like for my tastes. It all depends on what you like! I like mine a little al dente, personally.

The dried fruit is really high in sugar and this is NOT a low-cal or healthful recipe. But toasted steel cut oats, water, seeds and spices/dried fruit can be tossed into a crock pot on low overnight in whatever portions you like. Mix in fresh fruit/nuts in the morning and top with yogurt.
Google "Overnight Oatmeal" and you'll find a bunch, just make sure you check the nutrition on them before making them because dried fruit and half and half should be used with caution! :happy:0 -
