We went to a family event tonight with several family members that I hadn't seen in a while (years) - several aunts and uncles complimented me and told me how great I looked, then I found out my Mom had been telling everyone how hard I'd been working at losing weight - it kinda made the compliments seem less sincere to me, but I still enjoyed recieving them.

I'm only about 1-2 more pounds from a healthy BMI, then it's just a few more pounds for vanity's sake - I'm so close I can taste it!

Good luck to everyone!

I can't imagine 75lbs lost being anything but noticable. Lap up those compliments, you deserve them

    And Congratulations! :flowerforyou:

Your weight loss goals are almost identical to mine, so I agree in saying I'm sure they noticed all on their own, and your mom was probably just so proud of all you accomplished!! Take those compliments and give yourself a HUGE pat on your back for all that you've done!!!

I am absolutely amazed as well at how many compliments I DO NOT Receive!!! People just don't say anything! Like what the heck, is it not noticeable or something??? Are you jealous? What gives. My husband tells me every day all that I need to hear, thank goodness I do not rely on other's opinions.

I have lost 54lbs and have only had a few people tell me that I look like I have lost weight and most of those people know I have really been trying. It is a bit discouraging at times. I think is it really not very noticable? or do they just not say anything? I generally tell people when I notice they have lost weight because I know it makes me feel good and motivates me. You should be so proud of yourself take those compliments when you can get them you deserve them.....

I think humans are bad at giving compliments sometimes, or better yet, have had bad experiences with attempting to give them. I know some folks wind up offended by people's compliments that insinuate they used to be fat. People holding back are probably just trying not to put their foot in it!
