Yes you read that right, I am just short of 59 years old and I was put on a diet at the age of 9 by my Doctor & parents so that I would be underweight for a pioneering double leg operation. Since that time I must have lost and gained over 300lbs and that probably on the low side!! I've done Slimming together, Slimming World, Weightwatchers, the Fibre Plan, The Atkins Plan, the Grapefruit, hip & thigh,Low carbs, low fat, Xenical..and every other one you'd like to mention...
I'm trained in Special Diet & Nutrition & the Science of Cookery...so no excuse on that score. I happy eat..I sad eat...I just eat..I love food......HOWEVER........
Last year I decided enough was enough & made myself..thats it me..no one else.....a promise..that this time it was for good & a total lifestyle change..NOT a diet. I started around May....and lost around 34-35lbs.....put a little back on over Xmas...but that is now almost gone..and I am back on track.
Last year I did it through my GP (the incentive to start)-my friends/work colleagues who come swimming with me & swap notes....and then I found this site..and Wow since I joined a couple of weeks back its been amazing. The tools are great..no more scraps of paper with calories jotted down...saving a fortune on texts to mates..just log on here....so this is a first..I have succesfully negotiated a Xmas diet break and weight gain & got straight back on the plan..whereas in the past I would have found every excuse in the book to delay ...until.....I had put back every single pound that I lost last year......only one regret...why did I waste ALL those years.
