I find it hard to drink 8 cups of water a day, but flavored with Crystal Light or some such brand it is easy. I need somebody to tell me if it is bad drinking 2 quarts of Crystal Light a day. I hope somebody can give me the hard facts, if there are any.

I add Crystal Light and it's 10 calories - I use it in a giant reusable water jug so I drink around 15 glasses of water a day and use about 7 Crystal Lights so I'm getting an extra 70 calories. No big deal in my eyes, though there are some who dislike the Aspartame or Sucralose that it contains. Me - I used to drink 2-3 2L of Coke or Diet Coke daily so I feel Crystal Light is a great improvement!!

While I don't think it will kill you, personally I can't see how that much artificial sweetener can be ok. After all there is a number of studies that show that aspartame can have a number of bad side effects such as headaches and Splenda is supposed to lower the number of good bacteria in the lower intestines. This is information I've read over the years and it has remained pretty much constant that one might not want to have too much of it.
You might want to try your water laced with cinnamon powder and a packet of stevia.
Cinnamon is good for weight loss and stevia is a totally natural sweetener made from the leaves of the stevia plant. Some brands tastes a bit like aspartame but at least it isn't a man made chemical

I have to start by saying I am not a fan of any of the powdered drink mixes due to the ingredients.

Have you tried to put lemon, lime or cucumber in your water? Or how about flavored selzer water or plain seltzer water with an ounce of natural juice? It will have a few more calories, but none of the additives or chemicals.

I also know in my case, the only thing that does the trick to help me meet my water intake is water. I used to drink a ton of unsweetened iced tea. I got a reality check when I went to the doctor for a regular check up and found out I was a bit dehydrated. I cut out the tea completely, upped my water intake, and haven't had any issues since.

Thanks to all. I use Truvia in my coffee. Maybe that and lemon or cinnamon will work in water! Thanks for your thoughts. I should go one week without Crystal Light and see how I feel, using just water or the above. Thanks again
