I love my slow cooker and one of our family favs is 6 boneless porkchops, 2 cans mushroom soup, 1/2 cup milk set on low and leave it. I cook mine about 6 hours. Serve over steamed white or whole grain rice. A good side is steamed veggies.0

Hi Kelly!
Welcome to the community! So congratulations on making a commitment to living a healthier lifestyle and becoming a better healthier you. So to get started, you'll want to find out about how many calories you should be consuming daily, MFP will do that for you but if you wanted a little more info you can also check out mypyramid.gov to find out more information on serving sizes and how many servings of things you should be eating. Some rules of thumb that I live by has always been to increase the amount of veggies and fruits that I eat, raw is best or steamed or frozen before canned. Also, swapping out white breads and pastas with whole grains will help you a lot. Exercise is also a very important component, the standard goal is 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise a day although I would suggest you consult your doctor before you throw yourself into intense exercise. One more suggestion would be to increase the amount of water you drink and cut down on the amount of sugary drinks. If you make these small changes you'll find yourself feeling better and looking better without having to completely change your whole lifestyle. Also, if you slip up and eat something that you've been trying to avoid or you have an off day, or even an off week or month, don't get discouraged and give up. This journey isn't a quick fix, nor is it easy. Just keep pushing ahead and remember why you started this journey to begin with. and remember this community is here to cheer you on and offer support when you need it so don't be afraid to use it! Hope this helps.
