Found this article today.

Most of it makes me chuckle. After all of this time, and all the money spent. Eating properly, and moving more is the only thing that works. Imagine that.

The article states that 2/3 of Americans are over-weight or obese. I thought it was closer to 1/3. Anyone have any up to date statistics on this?

1/3 of Americans are just overweight, not obese. Another 1/3 of Americans are obese (and thus also overweight). If you combined the two, it's actually 2/3.

Most recent statistics come from 2010, which estimates 64%+ of Americans are overweight/obese. From the Journal of American Medical Association: http://jama.ama-assn.org/content/303/3/235.abstract

I don't like the feeling that comes with knowing that I contribute to that statistic! I never thought that I'd actually be overweight in medical terms, but here I am. Only 4lbs to go until I"m back into the upper range of a healthy bmi!
