Dance Central keeps this MN mom warm!

Hi folks,
This is my first post, even though I’ve been using MFP since November 2010. I came across the app on my new android phone…a great thing to start just before the holidays! This is the first year I haven’t gained during the holidays, and even lost a little! I’m pretty proud of myself for that! In October (shortly before I found MFP) I got very sick and lost 15 pounds in the course of 2 weeks. Something I hope to NEVER experience again, but it was a hell of a jump start to the old holiday diet! LOL So, I’m doing my best to keep all that off and lose even more.
I’m a 32-year-old stay-at-home-mom in this great frozen northland called Minnesota. I’m 5’2” tall, and I’ve always said that I’d be a lot closer to my ideal weight if only I were taller! But, sigh, I have resigned myself to the fact that I will never be a tall, lanky supermodel…I just hope to someday be a cute, little elfish thing.
Throughout my life I’ve always been the chubby, nerdy, Trekkie tomboy of a girl. And I’m okay with most of that list, with the exception of chubby. That part is going to change! I want more than anything to go shopping for nice clothes and look good in them…because despite my tomboyish qualities, I still like to be a girlie-girl, too.
Having started my weight loss journey in this I-just-wanna-curl-up-inside-and-stay-warm season has been a bit of a challenge, but fortunately I’ve taken quite a liking to my XBOX Kinect, the Dance Central game in particular! Such a fun workout! I try for 60 minutes, 4-5 days a week. I also play Kinect Adventures with my daughter, who is almost 5. Have to work extra hard to keep both of us active when we’re cooped up indoors! During the summer months I spend most of my time outside working in the yard/garden and playing with my daughter, so I’m looking forward to hopefully seeing some more dramatic results with the warmer months. It can’t get here soon enough! I’m a little discouraged that my loss has stalled the past couple of weeks, so I’m looking to kick some serious butt and get back to it!
This is exactly the kind of supportive community I have needed to keep me motivated! I’d love to make a few friends to help me along the way, and to help in return, so you’re welcome to add me if you want. I can’t guarantee I’ll be on every day, though…despite the lack of a paycheck, being a SAHM is a full-time job! Now, how many calories should I log for vacuuming??
