So a couple months ago my heel started bothering me. I had been running a good bit and had worked up to three miles without having to be wheeled out of the gym on a stretcher and then my heel started hurting. So I stopped running. Pain went away, mostly. So I ran today and my heel hurts. I guess I need to see someone about it.

Here is my question...a podiatrist or orthopedic doctor? Hubby says Ortho. He comes from a PHD family so I knew he would say that. Any insight from anyone out there?

Maybe see your general practitioner, and he will direct you from there.

I would see a podiatrist... they can prescribe you some orthotics to wear in your running shoes and well as rule out bone/heel spurs.
  • I agree with seeing your GP first. IT might be a problem with your foot or it could be from a problem with your back so that would be a huge factor on what dr you need to see.
